The colorful Car festival in Puri draws millions of devotees from various parts of the country as well as from abroad to Puri, It is held in June-July every year. Lord Jagannath of Puri is considered the Lord of the Universe, comes out of his sanctum sanctorum to give Darshan to all Devotees irrespective? cast, creed, sects and communities.lt is said that those who take part in the Car Festival? earn their passage to the Heaven.
Rath Yatra of Puri is one of the most awaited Hindu festivals of Orissa ( Odisha) ?as well as the country. The celebration of Car Festival starts much earlier that comprises the construction and decoration of the Raths or Chariot by numerous devotees & volunteers. The three chariots that are the highlights of the entire Yatra are pulled by strings made of coir. The chariot of Lord Jagannath which is 45.6 feet high comprises 18 wheels and is referred as Nandighosa. Lord Balabhadras chariot is made 45 feet high with 16 wheels is called Taladhwja. The chariot of Subhadra known as Darpadalana has 14 wheels and is 44.6 feet high. All these chariots are decorated with various designs and colors by the artists of Puri that showcases their enthusiasm for the Yatra.
The Rath Yatra at Puri is a significant religious event not only in the entire state but also in India. The festival is witnessed by numerous tourists both foreigners and Indian.
Itinerary

Day 1: BHUBANESWAR
Arrival Bhubaneswar and transfer to hotel in Bhubaneswar. Visit half day sightseeing tour of some magnificent temples such as (from 6-12th century) Mukteswar/Sidheswar/parsurameswar/Rajarani and Brahmeswar temple. Afternoon visit Khandagiri/Udaygiri Jain caves, tribal Museum. Overnight stay at Bhubaneswar.

Day 2: DHENKANAL
During morning after breakfast drive to Joronda, Dhenkanal to visit the Anam half naked sadhus and their monastery, evening prayer, tribal Jwellery village. Overnight stay at Bhubaneswar.

Day 3: PURI
During morning after breakfast visit drive to Puri enroute visit Lingaraj temple, Dhauli Budhist stupa, 64 Yogini temple, Pipli appliqu village. Raghurajpur painting village and enjoy the folk dance Gotipua Dance in the village. overnight stay at Puri.

Day 4: PURI
During morning visit the holy city of Puri by cycle rickshaw such as fishermen village, Jagannath temple, Priest colony etc. Afternoon visit Satapada Chilika Lake to take the motor boat to see Dolphins and sea mouth Island. Overnight stay at Puri.

Day 7: TAPTAPANI
During morning after breakfast drive to Taptapani area to visit Saura Tribal villages and 2nd largest Buhist Monastry in India. Upon arrival in Taptapani enjoy the hotsulpher bath in your attached bath. Overnight stay at Taptapani surrounded with beautiful nature.

Day 8: BALIGUDA
During morning after breakfast drive to Baliguda area enroute visit Kutia Kondh (tattoo faced) tribal villages. After few hours in the village overnight stay at Baliguda.

Day 9: KONDH TRIBAL VILLAGE
During morning visit Kutia Kondh Tribal market and afternoon drive to Bissam Cuttack area to meet the DESIA KONDH TRIBES in their village. Also visit nearby Kondh Tribal village, jewellery village, pottery village. Overnight stay at Rayagada.

Day 10: CHATIKONA
During morning after breakfast drive to Chatikona (35 Km and 1 hr) to meet DUNGURIA KONDH TRIBES in their colorful weekly market where they exchange their horticultural products with salt, chicken & kerosene etc. After few hours in the market drive to Jeypore (130 km and 3 hrs) for overnight stay in a basic hotel called Hello Jeypore.

Day 11: ONKDELI
During morning after breakfast drive to onkdeli (70 km and 1 & hrs) to meet the most colorful BONDA TRIBES in their weekly market. Share the home made alcohol with Bonda women and meet Bonda men who carry Bow and Arrow. After few hours in the market relax in the nearby waterfall and drive back to Jeypore for overnight stay at Hello Jeypore.

Day 12: KUNDLI
After breakfast drive to Kundli (75 Km and 1 & hrs) to meet the PARAJA & RANA TRIBES in their largest tribal weekly market of Odisha state. If possible witness the tribal dance in the village. After few hours in the market further drive to Visakhapatnam for overnight stay.

Day 13: VISAKHAPATNAM
