Odisha Tribal Village Tours – In India, there are 437 tribes, and in Odisha (Orissa), the number is sixty-two. According to 1991 Census, in Odisha (Orissa) the total strength of tribal population is approximately seven million. Odisha (Orissa) occupies a unique position in the ethnographic tribal map of India for having the largest variety of primitive tribal communities and one of the fascinating ethnographic states of the country. The tribal population of the state constitutes 22.44 percent of the total population of the state and 7.77 percent of the total tribal population of the country.
Although tribes are found in all the districts of the state, yet more than half of their total strength is found in three districts of Odisha ( Orissa ) namely koraput, Malkanagiri, sundergarh and Mayurbhanj. The most primitive tribes are Dunguria Kondh Tribes, colorful Bonda Tribes and Gadaba Tribes who still live in high hill and have retained their culture and traditions intact till today. Other tribes are Paraja, Rana, Kutia, Malli and Dhuruva.

Day 1: BHUBANESWAR
Arrival Bhubaneswar and meet our representative. Transfer to hotel and overnight stay at hotel.

Day 2: BHUBANESWAR
During morning after breakfast visit the old temple town famous for its rich heritage where you will meet across the impressive temples famous for its architecture and design, water tanks, small shrines, traditional bazaars. Also experience the authentic Hindu worship inside the temple. Overnight stay at Bhubaneswar. During evening drive to Khandagiri/Udayrigiri, the ancient caves to enjoy the sunset . Overnight stay at Bhubaneswar.

Day 3: NUAPATNA - JORANDA - DHENKANAL
After breakfast drive to the weavers village at Nuapatna to witness the weaving done by the traditional weavers. Also visit the Dhokra metal worker village at Sadeibareni. During evening visit the great monastery at Joranda where the unique Mahima sadhus offer the holy prayer for the sake of universal peace and harmony. Overnight stay at the Dhenkanal palace – A heritage property.

Day 4: HEERAPUR - PIPLI - KONARK
During morning drive to the unique ancient sixty four yogini temple, only third of its kind and well preserved place amidst the peaceful surrounding. Also visit the Bell metal worker Village at balakati. Drive back to Konark enroute visit colorful applique work at Pipli village . Also visit the fisher man village at Konark. Overnight stay at Konark.

Day 5: RAGHURAJPUR - PURI
During morning after breakfast visit the world famous world heritage site Konark Sun temple Then visit the farmer village and some famous Shiva Temple enroute. During afternoon visit the artisan and painter village , Brahmin village. If wish enjoy the Gotipua dance in the village. Overnight in a beach side hotel at Puri.

Day 6: PURI LOCAL
During morning enjoy the sun rise in the holy city of Puri with walk in fishermen village . Also visit the ancient old town of Puri covering priest colony, old buildings, Potters village, Stone Carving village, water tanks, craft centers, small shrines and local market. Also visit the great Jagannath temple from the roof of the largest monastry. During evening walk in the local market near Swargadwar near the beach.

Day 7: PURI - DELANG VILLAGE – MANGALAJODI LAKE
During morning drive to Delang area to visit the different ethnic villages where you will see the daily activities of farmer working in the field, fishing etc and afternoon drive to Mangalajodi where you will see residents and migratory birds by indigenous old country boat. Overnight stay in a village.

Day 8: PURI - CHILIKA LAGOON – RAMBHA
During morning drive to Satapada to enjoy the boat ride in the lap of Chilika lagoon-Largest brackish water lagoon in Asia . You will see the various migratory birds, irwady dolphins. Then cross the lake by the ferries and drive through exotic rural villages, paddy fields, canals. Overnight stay in a hotel overlooking to the lake.

Day 9: RAMBHA - CHANDRAGIRI - TAPTAPANI
Drive to Taptapani to enjoy the stay in a hotel amidst the lush green forest and natural hot spring. You will truly enjoy the hot sulpher bath in your own room .Short drive to chandragiri Tibbetian village where nearly ten thousand Tibetan refugees settled. Its worth to visit their carpet making work shop and the monastery. Overnight stay in the hotel at taptapani surrounded with beautiful nature.

Day 10: TAPTAPANI – LANJIA SAURA VILLAGE - RAYAGADA
After breakfast departure for Rayagada. Enroute visit the tribal village popularly known as Lanjia saura. Explore their life style during hiking of their village. Their main occupation is farming on traditional way as they use the wooden plough, hoe etc. Visit to the Shaman house to see the rare mudwall painting will be the high lights. Enjoy the drive through jungles, hill tracks. Enroute visit more villages. Overnight in a standard hotel, at Rayagada.

Day 11: DESIA KONDH VILLAGE - DUNGURIA VILLAGE - RAYAGADA
During morning after breakfast drive to Dukum region to make soft trek to different villages like pottery maker village, tribal jewellary maker village,Desia Kondh villages.Enjoy the half of the day in the village to interact with the people ans if possible also see their dance. Back to the hotel at Rayagada for a comfortable stay. Drive back to Konark enroute visit colorful applique work at Pipli village . Also visit the fisher man village at Konark. Overnight stay at Konark.

Day 12: PARAJA VILLAGE - MALI VILLAGE - TRIBAL MUSEUM - KORAPUT
Enjoy the drive through the hill terrains, jungles. Explore the Paraja and Mali tribal villagers who are very hospitable . After picnic lunch afternoon visit the tribal museum at Koraput. Enjoy the sunset visit to the hilltop Jagannath temple and temple ritual. Overnight stay in a Koraput or drive to Jeypore for overnight stay. During afternoon visit the artisan and painter village , Brahmin village. If wish enjoy the Gotipua dance in the village. Overnight in a beach side hotel at Puri.

Day 13: DHURUBA VILLAGE - GUPTESWAR
During morning drive to Gupteswar area to visit the secret cave shrine for the tribal god Lord Shiva. Enjoy the jungle walk along the river side. Afternoon walk to different Dhuruba tribe village. Enjoy the traditional dinner and their dance in the evening. Back to hotel in Gupteswar or drive to Jeypore for overnight stay.

Day 14: PURI - DELANG VILLAGE – MANGALAJODI LAKE
During morning drive to Lamtaput area to visit the primitive Gadaba tribal villages who are known for their costumes, ornaments and the houses. If wish enjoy the traditional Dhemsa dance perform by the Gadaba women. Further drive to Jeypore for overnight stay .

Day 15: Bonda village - Jeypore
Early morning drive to Machakund region to meet the most primitive Bonda men with Bow and arrow coming from the hill top to the local market . Also share the alcohol with Bonda women who are completely different from the other tribes know for the isolated community and the geographic location point of view. They are very colorful for their jewellary,ornaments and their body stature. Late afternoon back to hotel at Jeypore enroute rest and relax in a waterfall after a short trek.
