Similipal, the National Park covering an area of 2750 Sq Kms, out of which 303 sq km form the core area, this biosphere reserve is a sanctuary and one of the nine Tiger-Projects in India. About 1076 species of plants, 87 species of orchids, 42 species of mammals, 29 types of reptiles and 231 species of birds are the proud possession of this plateau. For a nature loving tourist the entire Park with its evergreen Sal Forests, extensive grassy lands and Luxuriant Waterfalls provide an element of abiding interest. The panoramic view of the waterfalls at Barehipani (400 meters ) and Joranda (150 meters) are simply enchanting. During morning drive to Baripada, the entry point to Similipal. After permit drive to LULUNG tourist bunglow, the footstep of Similipal . If lucky, meet across some wild animals like wild Boer, Deer etc.?Overnight stay at Lulung or Chahala.
Drive to Zoronda if lucky enroute meet across?wild animals. Overnight stay at ZORONDA or BARAIPANI overlooking the waterfall. If wish wild animals can be watched from the nearby watch tower.
